In 1892 Glasgow Golf Club decided they also wanted a seaside course so off they went and bought some land and laid the foundations for what is today Gailes Links! They are probably the only club in the world that have two courses 30 miles apart…Gailes Links is situated next to Western Gailes, and very close to Dundonald Links. Over the last few years the club has renovated the course with amongst other things, new tees, and that probably helped it stay on the rota as a qualifying course for The Open.
