Leven and their neighbour Lundin originally shared the land between them but as the sport grew and more and more people came to play overcrowding became a problem and the two clubs separated with each getting nine holes of the existing course. The result is two great courses! Leven is a qualifying course for The Open and those who played felt that it was much better, and more difficult, than they thought it was going to be. One quirky aspect is that it has three par 3 on the first nine, but the hole most people remember is the 18^th, a 457 yards long par 4 where the green is raised and surrounded by the Scoonie Burn!
