Royal Lytham & St Annes

With 200 bunkers, Royal Lytham & St Annes is a unique experience!

About Royal Lytham & St Annes

This course may not be as visually stunning as some of the other Open venues, but it is one of the more difficult and where strategy is key.

There are over 200 bunkers (!) and there is a railway line along the first few holes. Rather unusually it starts with a par 3, and overall it is rather a tightly packed course, often surrounded by houses. The 17th, arguably the most famous hole, is named after Bobby Jones, who won the first Open played here in 1926.

Lytham’s club house has a large section of golfing memorabilia and a superb atmosphere, so too does its Dormy House where it is possible to spend the night, something we highly recommend.
