Monifieth has actually got two courses but most people are referring to The Medal Course when they talk about the club. Laid out in 1845 it is one of four qualifying courses for when The Open is played at nearby Carnoustie. It is built over sand dunes but unusually you won’t see much of the sea from the course. There are however other obstacles, including the nearby railway line! The Medal is an unpretentious course that we recommend you put on your itinerary.
