Dooks is the golf course that nearly disappeared…after decades of play on the 9 hole links it turned out that the lease for the land had never been signed! After a 2 year battle in the 1960’s the members and the local community managed to raise the £7000 required to purchase the land.

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, extending to 18 holes and tripling its membership. The result is an engaging, natural and relaxed links course with breath taking views in all directions, from the mountains to the peninsulas. A slighter shorter course at just over 6500yards Dooks is an excellent introduction to links golf in Ireland!
