Northern Ireland might not be a big country but it sure has a lot of golf courses! There is around 90 of them in total, stretching from coast to coast and down towards the Republic of Ireland. Most famous are Royal Portrush, host of the 2019 Open Championship, and Royal County Down, frequently voted the No 1 course in the world.

There is so much more to this beautiful, and friendly, country though, with clubs like Portstewart and Castlerock taking their rightful place on most must-play course lists, we’re seeing more and more interest in longer tours, to properly explore all that Northern Ireland has to offer.

There are many ways to tour Northern Ireland, from short breaks in Belfast, to longer breaks discovering the Portrush area, or why not tag Northern Ireland onto a tour of the courses in Dublin and Drogheda?

Like with all our destinations we are happy to arrange other things than golf, why not visit the Bushmills Distillery or The Titanic Museum in Belfast, or if you’re a Game of Thrones fan, it was filmed here and there’s even a tour you can do!

The Bushmills Inn, originally a coaching Inn from the 1600’s, is a rather unique 4-star boutique hotel with 41 individually designed rooms and suites. The rooms are modern, yet elegant, spacious, and some have a view over the river.

The hotel also have a restaurant that offers all day dining, and the famous Gas Bar, which is enormously popular, still lit by gas light, with traditional Irish music and an array of whiskeys from the world’s oldest distillery, Bushmills!

The Donard Hotel, also known as the D-Hotel, lies in the centre of this small town which is only a couple of minutes away from Royal County Down and half hour drive from Ardglass golf club.
