The Old Course Hotel

Old Course Hotel is probably just as well known as the course it’s named after. This spectacular 5 star hotel is often voted the best golf resort in the world.

With spacious rooms, some with views over the course and some with balconies, newly renovated Kohler bathrooms and stylish furnishings, this hotel hits all the spots. They also have 35 suites decorated by the French designer Jaques Garcia, one of the many stylish features are the silk lined walls.

All rooms have smart TVs, WiFi, usb plugs, mini bar, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers, and a desk and chair area. The Old Course hotel is also home to the only Kohler Water Spa outside of the US, which includes a 20-meter pool, steam sauna and jacuzzi.

The resort has several restaurants to choose from, we particularly recommend a visit to Jigger Inn which is filled with golfing memorabilia.

Ardgowan Hotel

Ardgowan Hotel is only a nine iron from the Old Course and here you will also find the popular restaurant Playfair’s.

All of the rooms were renovated during 2017 and 2018 are now both stylish and comfortable with en-suite bathrooms which has showers. The rooms have TV and telephones, hairdryers, coffee/tea facilities as well as free WiFi.

The deluxe rooms can sleep three, a fairly unusual feature in hotels of this class. We love the service and the friendliness of the staff here; your wish is their command!

The Fairmont Hotel

Fairmont Hotel is a ten minute drive outside of St Andrews and have two very good golf courses as well as a large spa and several restaurants. It is a large complex that also has conference and meeting rooms.

Many of the rooms have view over the bay and the rooms are spacious, even the twin rooms, and the bathrooms have both baths and walk-in showers.

Nethan House

One of our most popular Bed & Breakfasts, Nethan House is on Murray Park, a short walk to the golf courses and surrounded by great restaurants, pubs and bars.

Nethan has a number of different rooms including a quad, perfect for those of you on a budget or travelling as a family. They also have a dedicated storage area for golf clubs so there’s no need to bring them up to the room.

Their fantastic Scottish breakfast is served from 07:30 so even if you have an early tee time you will manage to get a bite to eat before.

Lorimer House

Lorimer House is a small bed & breakfast with 5 rooms, all en-suite, with TV, coffee/tea facilities and WiFi. Great breakfast with mainly locally sourced products. It’s the warm welcome that ensures a spot on our list, very much a home from home!
