The team at Ardglass is incredibly friendly and the course is nearly always in tip top condition. The clubhouse is a 14th Century castle!
A few miles from the world famous Royal County Down golf course lies Ardglass Golf Club which was founded in 1896 but only got a full 18 holes in 1970.
This is more of a cliff top course than a traditional links, with 8 holes running along the sea on top of mighty cliffs with some spectacular views.
Ardglass is fun to play, sometimes playing links course can be a bit soul destroying if you are endlessly losing balls and 3 putting, so adding a course like Ardglass to your Northern Ireland itinerary makes a welcome relief.
The team at Ardglass is incredibly friendly and the course is nearly always in tip top condition, however the howling winds of the sea is creating a bit of erosion which may be a problem in the future. When it comes to clubhouses Ardglass is in a league of their own as it’s a 14th century castle!
