Tralee Golf Club in County Kerry opened in 1984 and was Arnold Palmer’s first venture in Ireland and at the time he stated that he had never seen a landscape so suitable for a golf course!
The saying goes that he only designed the first nine, but mother nature did the rest. Most of the course runs along the coastline, but the last nine runs through enormous sand dunes where several of the greens are on a plateau on the other side of a ravine.
The scenery is amazing, Tralee is often described as majestic, stunning and unforgettable and we totally agree! Our favourite holes are 13th and 14th; 13th is a short par three where you have to hit the green or face being in the bottom of the ravine whilst 14th has a split fairway so check the pin position before choosing which side to aim for!
