Golf in England is plentiful, and no more so than on the south England coasts. We’re especially fond of the links courses on the Kentish coast, a few hours from London with its hustle and bustle lies the pretty towns of Deal and Sandwich, and in their vicinity, the famous links courses Royal St George, Royal Cinque Port and Princes GC.
Deal is slighter larger than Sandwich, and on the coast, as a former fishing port it can trace its history back to 1086 when it was mentioned in the Doomsday book. Sandwich is slighter further inland next to the river Stour, and perhaps more famously known after the 4th Earl of Sandwich , the ‘inventor’ of the sandwich.
Both towns have several pubs, restaurants, and cafes, as well as hotels and bed/breakfasts.

Set in a refurbished Edwardian building, this wonderful riverside hotel in central Sandwich has 37 ensuite bedrooms with a mixture of traditional and contemporary rooms with free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffeemaking facilities, and some feature balconies and/or river views.
They also have some suites, which are individually designed, should require more space. Breakfast is included and served from 7am on weekdays/8am on weekends, while other dining options include a bar/brasserie with a river-view terrace, and a fine-dining restaurant.

This pub in Sandwich offers cheap bed and breakfast in contemporary rooms above the bar and is a great place to stay if your budget is on the tight side! Rooms are ensuite and have flat screen tvs, hospitality tray with coffee/tea making facilities and a full English is included. The pub serves great food and is popular with the locals!

Waterfront Hotel
Small, comfortable hotel on the waterfront in Deal. Rooms are ensuite and decorated to a good standard. Full English served from 7.30am on Mon-Sat, 8am on Sun, but they can make a ‘to go’ bag if you have an early tee time.
The hotel has an excellent restaurants that is popular with the locals so we recommend you book a table here for an evening meal!
